Read Me First

When I said “Read Me First”, it didn’t exactly mean that, it just meant- here are the directions on how to get the most out of this site. Right now we are doing a community lectio divina exercise through the book of Philippians. If you don’t know what lectio divina is, start with the featured entries on the left side of the home page.
On the right side of the page are entries for each paragraph in the book of Philippians based on The Message version. There are two entries for each paragraph. One is the “meditation” entry and the other is the study “entry” (i.e. Phil: Paragraph 1 Study, Phil: Paragraph 2 Meditation). For meditation we are specifically using the lectio divina format. Please comment your experiences. You’ll want to allot 30-45 minutes for each sitting. For study, I am blogging some specific insights from my own personal study that I have gathered from commentaries, books and other writings. I would also love to hear your thoughts. I believe that meditation and study work hand in hand to challenge and change us. So dive in and join the fun!
