Phil: Paragraphs 6 & 7- Meditation
Posted on 21. May, 2009 by Jeremy in Meditation

It’s true that some here preach Christ because with me out of the way, they think they’ll step right into the spotlight. But the others do it with the best heart in the world. One group is motivated by pure love, knowing that I am here defending the Message, wanting to help. The others, now that I’m out of the picture, are merely greedy, hoping to get something out of it for themselves. Their motives are bad. They see me as their competition, and so the worse it goes for me, the better—they think—for them.
So how am I to respond? I’ve decided that I really don’t care about their motives, whether mixed, bad, or indifferent. Every time one of them opens his mouth, Christ is proclaimed, so I just cheer them on!

Lectio: defending, help
meditatio: relieved
oratio: I keep getting this flash back to a human video I saw when Satan kept louring this girl into temptations while God was reaching out through the crowd trying to pull her back in and eventually she grabs his hands and He throws every part of her past behind Him and is fighting and changing her into the woman of God she was made to be. So, sin is sin and He knows we make those mistakes and just knowing Gods there still fighting for us and helping and He is just never disappointed in us even when we do the lowest thing we could ever imagine it’s so wowing, you know that feeling that is just indescribable. Through temptations He’s still there defending and holding us close and even through times where were just like screaming out to God asking if He’s even listening its the growth in faith. His encounters are never old, Mel was telling me how everytime we have that encounter its like meeting Him for the first time its always exciting and just gives you that giddy, bouncing off the walls feeling! He’s here doing the impossible and preparing us for this spiritual war were facing! wow!
contemplatio: subtle

lectio:spotlight
meditatio:pride,greed
orario:The spotlight should be on God, not the one preaching, not the one raising their hands in worship. I think when people are prideful, they want the spotlight to be on them. They think they are better than everyone and they want everyone to know it, but pride comes before the downfall. That statement is so true. Most poeple dont like feeling iinferior and people with pride usually make people feel inferior. It is hard to listen to what prideful people say, because they think thier opinion is right and it is the only one that matters and if someone questions them or challenges them, they make that person feel stupid. I think if a christian has pride issues, they need to ask for God to help them with that because pride could be a stumbling block when trying to minister to people.
