Phil: Paragraph 10- Meditation
Posted on 16. Jun, 2009 by Jeremy in Meditation

Meanwhile, live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. Let nothing in your conduct hang on whether I come or not. Your conduct must be the same whether I show up to see things for myself or hear of it from a distance. Stand united, singular in vision, contending for people’s trust in the Message, the good news, not flinching or dodging in the slightest before the opposition. Your courage and unity will show them what they’re up against: defeat for them, victory for you—and both because of God. There’s far more to this life than trusting in Christ. There’s also suffering for him. And the suffering is as much a gift as the trusting. You’re involved in the same kind of struggle you saw me go through, on which you are now getting an updated report in this letter. Phil 1:27-30

Lectio: Trust
Meditatio: I have been having a really hard time with putting all my trust in God. I know it may sound easy but for me its really hard. I mean I do trust him but sometimes not with a full heart, if that makes sense? I know God wants me to trust Him with every ounce of my being but it is really difficult.
Oratio: God, Please help me trust you no matter what. Let every ounce of my being know that you have my back! I want to never have any doubts that you won’t come through for me and my family. Help me trust you whole-heartily. Amen.
Contemplatio: Wow

Lectio: singular in vision
Meditatio:I love the image Jeremy saw of you all scaling the mountain together… that picture summarizes what “singular in vision” speaks to me. Everyone may not see every detail that each of you see, but all of you, of us, are focused on the goal, the crest of the mountain. We shall share much on the way up, much vision, much strain, much sweat and risk. Therein is fellowship – in the sharing of such things.
Oratio: Father, help us ascend the mount of the LOrd. The fruit of such that we be made faithful and faith filled men and women.
Contemplatio: energized
